Hi, I’m Darren and I’m from the United States. Yeah, I like doing anything outdoors and spending time with my family. We like to have summer barbecues. We have a dog and three chickens, so we take care of our animals. I like doing a lot of DIY around the house, doing remodeling and yeah, pretty much anything with my hands. It’s kind of what I enjoy doing in my free time.
Ah, yeah, another good question. I think as an instructor, the kinds of things that give me the greatest sense of fulfillment is when students… you kind of see in their face the “proverbial light bulb” goes off and they clearly understand what you’re talking about. And another thing is when students start to naturally use the English or the expressions that we’ve been practicing and kind of when they start to use English their sense of confidence really grows and I feel like as an instructor it’s kind of one of the best things to see when a student understands what we’re using.

もう一つは、生徒さんたちが、BESで新しく覚えたり、それまで何回も一緒に練習してきた、単語や表現を、会話の中で自然に使い始めるのを見たときですね。
練習した表現を使って、自信を持って話してくれる。そういう成長を見ることができるのが一番のやりがいです。
